A Beginner's Guide to Spending Resources
Like many games of this nature, there are several currencies and resources you can spend. The one that is critical is gems. You are strongly discouraged from spending any gems until you read the basic information.
Gems
In the beginning, it feels like you will have ample gems for everything you want. But this is a gacha game, and they're luring you in. The game gives you a lot of gems at the beginning, but the flow slows down dramatically after a week or two. For this reason, unless you want to spend significant real world money to buy them, it is important to be mindful how you will spend gems.
You will need to spend gems on the following
- Expanding your Dorm. You will want to allow more than 2 visitors in your dorm, and it gets expensive.
- Expanding your Dock. You will need to expand the dock to hold all the unique Shipgirls you keep.
- Expanding your Tactical Training Room. This lets you have more students at a time.
All other uses of spending gems should come behind these three. For me, the next priority was:
- Buying Promise Rings so I could marry Shipgirls.
The problem for me was that I spent my gems on marrying several shipgirls early, and I didn't have gems for the main priorities. Unless you want to spend real life money to buy more gems, think three times before spending gems on anything else.
You can farm them -- there are YouTube videos about this. But it's slow and time-consuming.
